Training for Volunteers
Five YogaMobility students kindly gave up their Sunday mornings, on 18th January, to join Mary and Jason in a training session for a dozen volunteers.
The topic was “passive movement” – in other words, when a student’s limb is moved by a volunteer or tutor, rather than by the student.
The technique is rewarding in itself because students benefit from the improved postures which are achieved.
A further benefit is that, with repetition, students are better able to move the limb themselves.
The volunteers practised this technique with the students in the morning, and then stayed on after lunch to discuss and consolidate what they had learnt.
Many thanks to all those who took part, in whatever capacity!
Peter Marshall, Trustee
