Karma Times (Spring 2012)

Karma Times (Spring 2012)

Hello everyone it’s spring time

Easter is coming and we are all looking forward to the flowers and colours appearing in the garden, a time of hope for better things to come for us all.  I’d like to start with      “A Big Thank you”     to all those who are working so hard with bringing the Charity Status work up to date – Tim, Julia, and all the Trustees in particular.    There is a lot to do and this has been a trying time for all of us but we are getting there and soon things will be easier on that front.  Small steps seem hard to take at this moment but this will settle down soon.  Phew.

We had a lovely time in March, at Bridge Cottage for the first clothes swop.  I realise that it wasn’t advertised well but it is such fun that we are organising another one.  June 8th from six till eight at the Bridge Cottage.  I hope you can come, such fun.   We will be charging £3.00 for entry this including snacks tea and coffee.  So bring a friend, some good clothes and have a great evening.  We made sixty pounds this time.  Not to be sneezed at.

We do have a diary of dates for the coming year starting with a Fund Raising event at the British Legion Club in Whitchurch on 18th May.  The Funky Love Posse will be getting you dancing ‘n’ jiggling, a raffle and entertainment by Mary. Tickets in advance will be £6 and on the door £8.  Members of the committee and friends will be bringing snacks to share on the night but feel free to bring some as well.  Please encourage friends to come as the more we raise the more we can do.  It is also Jason’s Birthday party.  So a good time will be had by all.

The Roath Park Open day 14th July is a chance for us to put ourselves out there and get new members as well as have some fun trying. We would like you to make cakes again for us, as they went so well last year and every bit in the coffers helps.  Hopefully we’ll have YogaMobility Tee Shirts by then.  Fingers crossed.

The Garden Party will be on July 22nd at Bridge Cottage and this is a day we all enjoy and look forward to.  More details of this later on and the Sponsored Hobble is on 9th September.  So put it in your diary, always a time for fun. We are have a Bollywood evening in October as well.

Christmas Lunch on Tuesday 4th December at twelve thirty, at the Mecure Hotel Newport Road, (It used to be Holland House). The cost will be £11.00 and we’ll be taking a deposit for this is September to spread out costs etc.  And the Christmas Funky Love Posse night is December 15th at British Legion Whitchurch.

Yoga for Life is now YogaMobility’ Events Committee.     We are grateful that the transition from Yoga for Life into YogaMobility has taken place fully now.  This team has given us fabulous help and support from the beginning.  Now the work goes on and we are always looking for new members to join this wonderful bunch of event helpers. We meet every first Monday of the month at Salty’s Cafe on Fidlas Road Llanishen at 1.30p.m.  Please try to come and help if you can or if you can’t make it and still want to help at any of the events them just let us know.  We are always looking for Volunteers to help in the classes, at the fundraisers and in the office.  So please put your thinking cap on and see if you have any abilities you can use for us.
